Hi I’m Desiree aka Jennifer Diane Schecter. Thanks for stopping by my publication, Healing with the Occult.
Ever since I was in my 20s I wanted to work for a big time magazine. I followed Lauren Conrad and Cupcakes and Cashmere for years. I obsessed over Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and celebrity fashion. I had several blogs and all different names for them like Haute Harlot, Obsess and Consume and Film Vixen. I would work on different designs for all of them all the time. I love graphic design and HTML. I shared fashion and film posts but only a little of my writing. I kept that part of me hidden because to me it was dark and intense and I was always afraid of people seeing my feelings because they were so deep.
But I found myself here through Healing with the Occult which I’ve been writing for since 2022. I love being the editor for this publication, it really is like a dream come true. And I love sharing hidden, transformative knowledge and resources to help you on your journey. A lot of what I share comes to me when I’m doing my own healing or experiencing life.
Spirituality is the part of me that went through a spiritual awakening in 2017 and changed her whole entire life. I identify as a witch and intuitive and am committed to sharing the occult i.e. the secrets of the universe/higher consciousness with others as it reveals itself and guides me on my path every day.
Nutrition is what I found after the awakening. Food, fitness and learning how to take care of my body saved my life and I’ve been dedicated to a healthy lifestyle for a long time now. This section is like a guide to help you eat more consciously, easily and affordably, and to support your mental health in the process.
Self-expression is the part of me I was always afraid to share, it’s the highly sensitive person, the one who feels so much she needs to get it out through writing on her body, an outfit, performative photography, a fiction story or singing. It’s where I share all my feelings. Once in a while I’ll also write a film review since I’m a huge fan of movies, because they’re another way I experience emotions. It’s all about empowerment and inspiration.
When I was younger I auditioned for America’s Next Top Model, so you will see a lot of photos on here of me doing just that too. Modeling was another dream of mine and now I get to do it every day.
I’m also a self-published author, I create emotive books and zines and spiritual guidebooks to help you understand the truth of who you are through channeled practices.
