When I tell myself that my writing means nothing. When I go over in my mind every expectation that anyone close to me ever had - for me - that I could not uphold, and I feel like I’m failing (untrue but when this creeps up,). When I feel myself losing touch with reality because struggling with your mental health is a real thing, when I can’t afford to get a reading, when I lay on the edge of my bed for an hour, unable to move because I am paralyzed by my own thoughts, I look into the info that the sources below have for me. They are synchronous, in line with what is going on at the time or at least parallel to the larger (sometimes hidden) theme of the season of my life. They help me get through hellish days.
For the week - Moon Reading.
If I tell you that this ended up in my inbox without my knowledge I don’t know if you would believe me, but that is what happened. Unless I signed up for something where these people pulled my email, I am unsure how I ended up involved in this website but Jeremy and Brad channel very insightful information according to your Moon sign. All you have to do is sign up for free and an email will hit your inbox on Sundays, to get you ready for your cosmic week. I often refer back to it for help as my week goes on. The first paragraph is written for you specifically (think minor arcana, pictured) while the rest pertains to you and the collective (think major arcana).
For every day - Moon Calendar.
I have several moon apps that do different things but this one provides daily horoscope for your moon sign (pictured). It lays out your chart for each month and besides a detailed offering of spiritual advisor-like information it also refers to the current phase of the moon and what you can do to get in alignment with that, as well as any conjuncts or aspects it is currently experiencing and what that means for you and the collective, and it also shows what house your moon is currently in as it makes its way around the wheel in the sky. It’s free but if you pay 4.99 a year which is like one coffee per year you also get access to an archive of self-care rituals which include spells, crafts, kitchen witchery and a nod to the sabbats that the creator and other external sources have provided. There’s a journaling section as well but I haven’t yet dabbled. On a new or full moon, expect an even longer, more detailed horoscope.
Daily tarot pulls with Elliot Oracle.
I have always advocated for a daily tarot pull, this is one way to get closer to yourself and learn more about who you are, which to me most of the time is a matter of life and death. I’ve been pulling for about 5 years now and have used a variety of interpretive websites when I am not relying on my own intuition. Elliot Oracle is a really beautiful gateway into pulls (and spiritual principles) as it provides tarot card meanings. When I was using Elliot’s website I found the interpretations to be so gentle and warm, while sternly explaining what needs explaining. There is a talent here for the way in which Elliot will weave the most honorable and equitable beliefs to live by within the writing of each meaning, and in that way Elliot also teaches you. I often screenshot some of the words because they’re that powerful. At the bottom of the interpretations there is almost always a “love” category so if you pulled the card and feel it is about a relationship, there is some insight there as well - separated by new/long term/seeking romance, depending on your situation.
Daily messages with The Pivot Year.
I received this as a gift for my birthday last September and it has been a life changing object. It is my belief that all books carry specific energy with them from the author, which influences your life as you read it and keep it around you. The energy behind this book is magickal, it creates movement toward your highest dreams and highest self. It also reminds me of those little calendars that have been around for decades and are so popular, you know, the ones that you tear the date sheet off of each day for a new religious or inspiring message of the day. No doubt this format of a book was going to do really well simply because those little calendars are a hit and you will use this book every single day. I plan to pass mine down after I get to the end of my pivot year.
My new book is now available. Salvation is about reinvention of the self after an abusive relationship. A detailed account of one survivor's story, from what it took to realize abuse was occurring to experiencing a spiritual awakening, which led to creating a life worth living. If you or someone you know is currently experiencing/healing from relationship abuse in any form, this book (as a resource and validation) could be helpful.
